Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Approach

Ancient wisdom meets cutting-edge technology:

As part of our integrated approach to healthcare, we use AcuGraph TM Digital Meridian Imaging TM. AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging System analyzes and documents the active status of acupuncture meridians using a computer. The patient will be assessed by touching acupuncture points on your hands and feet with a moistened probe.

Over 5000 years ago, acupuncture meridians were used therapeutically in your body as invisible energy pathways. Every part of your body is connected to these meridians, which conduct life-force energy or Qi (pronounced “chee”). When these meridian pathways are blocked or interfered with, unfavourable health conditions may result. The primary goal of acupuncture treatment is to correct energetic imbalances and restore proper energy flow to these meridians, allowing your body to function normally and return to health.

HOW DOES ACUGRAPH WORK?

Using AcuGraph, you can gain real-time insight into your patient’s meridian energetics and give more effective acupuncture treatments. The examination measures electrical skin resistance at representative acupuncture points. The system includes objective measurement and engaging visual displays of meridian data, treatment point recommendations and historical trending to demonstrate results.

Where did AcuGraph come from?

Ryodoraku acupuncture is a Japanese practice that dates back over 60 years. translation might be a “good electrical pathway.” AcuGraph is based on this practice. In 1950, Yoshio Nakatani, M.D., Ph.D. was measuring the electrical resistance of the skin in an edematous patient with nephritis, when he found a line, similar to the kidney meridian of acupuncture, that had a series of points at which increased electrical conductance was measured on the surface of the skin. He carefully checked this phenomenon in 10 other patients with kidney disease and found it present in all, while it was never present in healthy subjects. Because this line offered increased electrical conductance and seemed to follow the traditional kidney meridian, he named this line the kidney “ryodoraku” (ryo=good, ‘do=(electro) conductive, ‘raku=line.) A better English translation might be, “good electrical pathway.”

Will AcuGraph Replace my Traditional Diagnostic Methods?

Traditional methods are not substituted; instead, it enhances by providing more information for the practitioner to consider. It adds to, rather than replacing, traditional methods.

The disease is not important. The “patient” is important, because the patient has created the disease. The cause is in the patient; the disease is only a symptom. You can change the symptom, and another symptom will come up. You can force this disease by drugs, you can stop its expression, but then the disease will assert itself somewhere else and with more danger, more force – with a vengeance. So we will feel the “patient.” As we all aware education and experience equality important. But most important to get in tune with the “patient” and find the cause using both western and eastern medicine. We care and will build a rapport; and create a bridge on your healing journey!

What is the difference between Tongue and Pulse and AcuGraph?

Though AcuGraph will often harmonize very well with your tongue and pulse results, it may also provide unexpected, further information you could not have found through traditional methods. The synergy between AcuGraph testing and your other diagnostic procedures brings greater insight for better treatments.

All the ambiguity from pulse and tongue diagnosis was gone so you could confidently, definitely know you are providing the exact treatment that will get maximum results every time?

    What is the P.I.E. Score?

The P.I.E. (Personal Integrated Energetic) score summarizes your patient’s overall energetic balance. It represents a synthesis of all the information gathered in the AcuGraph exam, expressed in a single number for easy comparison. The P.I.E. score helps your patient understand how balanced their meridians are and how they change under your care.

Once the diagnosis is made, treatment is created using acupuncture, electro-aquapuncture, cupping, moxa, and herbal medicine.
