COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

Using cosmetic acupuncture, you can reduce fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, muscle tone, and scarring from within.

A specialized form of acupuncture, this holistic skin care treatment encourages healthy facial expression and supple skin by increasing the flow of blood and Qi (energy) to the face, which innervates and nourishes your facial muscles and skin. While visible results can be seen after the first visit, more lasting results may require several visits. Between treatments, cosmetic acupuncture works behind the scenes by boosting collagen and elastin production and promoting detoxification for a clearer, more even complexion.

A “lit from within” glow that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) calls vitality.

How it works?

In cosmetic acupuncture, extra-thin, silicon-coated needles are inserted just beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate or sedate facial motor points. This technique reduces discomfort and prevents bruising. While stimulation improves muscle tone (tightening and lifting), sedating overactive muscles that cause wrinkles and tension eases skin concerns like frown lines and crow’s feet (relaxing and smoothing).

In addition to acupuncture points targeting your individual skin concerns and boosting overall circulation and skin health for that refreshed glow, an optional LED light can be used to enhance the treatment and promote collagen production.

What to expect:

At a cosmetic acupuncture appointment, your practitioner will discuss your main skin concerns, ask questions about your health, and visually assess the skin to identify any present imbalances. While the acupuncture treatment will be targeted to the facial region, your practitioner may also use a few body points to promote relaxation, well-being, and balance specific to you and your individual health concerns.

Cosmetic acupuncture treatments include:

  • Acupuncture for the face to target areas of concern
  • LED light therapy with needles in for 20 minutes (optional, but an added bonus!)
  • Facial, neck, and scalp massage

While visible results can be seen after the first visit — and you will likely notice an immediate decrease in facial tension — more lasting results may require several visits depending on your concerns and desired effect.

The disease is not important. The “patient” is important, because the patient has created the disease. The cause is in the patient; the disease is only a symptom. You can change the symptom, and another symptom will come up. You can force this disease by drugs, you can stop its expression, but then the disease will assert itself somewhere else and with more danger, more force – with a vengeance. So we will feel the “patient.” As we all aware education and experience equality important. But most important to get in tune with the “patient” and find the cause using both western and eastern medicine. We care and will build a rapport; and create a bridge on your healing journey!

    Post-appointment care:

    • It’s also important to stay well-hydrated after treatment. It’s okay to continue your daily activities or exercise routine after your session, but we recommend taking it easy. A little fatigue and sometimes very mild flu-like symptoms (aching, headache) are signs of your body’s natural healing and detoxification processes.
    • Chinese herbs may be recommended depending on your health diagnosis, to clear the blood stasis.
    • We may also recommend sunscreen, facial serums and creams based on your condition.
